Beginning June 1 through September
30, 2007, we ask residents NOT
to water between the hours of
10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
daily. There is absolutely
“NO WATERING ON
MONDAYS.” When
watering in the heat
of the day, the water just
evaporates. Add the daily
winds to that, and water
is simply being wasted.
The best time to water
is either at night, or
better yet, in the early
morning.
Excessive watering
causes water to run
along the street and
into the storm drain
system, which is not only
a waste, but a violation
of City codes. There are
simple ways of making sure
water is not wasted. When
starting up sprinkler systems,
make sure there are no broken
heads and that the sprinkler is not
over-spraying onto the
street or side walk.
