On 6-2-03, Ben Maxwell disappeared in the Carson River and was found on 6-8-03. His friends said he was sucked under the water when he went in to help a dog (that was having trouble swimming). It was believed that Ben got caught in something called a "strainer" which is debris that builds up in the river and if you get caught in it (with the current) there is nothing you can do. Ben was a third generation Nevadan with a lot of friends and people who loved him. He will be greatly missed by many. Friends of the family are trying desperately to help with expenses incurred due to this tragedy. If there is anything you could contribute, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for any assistance you provide.
